Did you contact LFI to see if they had any info or experience regarding your situation or any similar one?

I'll probably talk to LFI about it, but I'm going to get a definite answer on what to do, in order to ensure that my traveling is done in full accordance with the law.

Yes, please keep us posted, I live in Hawaii and someday I'd like to be able to go to the mainland and attend one of tactical training facilities up there. I'll admit I haven't give much thought to the legalities of travelling w/ weapons so I'll continue to follow this thread.
Thanks

As a LFI - 1 grad, I say:

1. The legal part is definitely worth it.
2. The shooting part is interesting but not intense if you have some shooting experience. Even a beginner should have little problem if you relax. I shot the course with one arm in a cast and with my dominant hand and did reasonably well.

About the guns: Can you ship them to an FFL nearby? Ayoob might know one. That might cost but avoids the issue. Similarly, can you rent one there? Some folks have done that in courses, I've been too.

You might be able to borrow a gun from Ayoob, depending on the circumstances. Obviously, you'd want to set that up ahead of time.
