Caliber Convertible FAL: .223, 7.62, 9mm, etc

Basically, you swap out the barrel, bolt, and magazine adapter for the caliber of your choice, and in under 60 seconds you have a new caliber! I'd love to have one of these set up to quick change between 9mm, 5.56mm, 7.62x51mm, and 7.62x39mm! Cheap magazines all around- the 9mm takes Sten magazines, the 5.56mm takes M-16 magazines, the 7.62x51mm takes FAL magazines (duh!), and the 7.62x39mm takes AK-47 magazines.

Seems like a pretty good SHTF rifle in my eyes. Easily change out the rifle to fire whatever ammo you happen to find lying around, and it seems like you can just change out a mag adapter to switch from say sten mags to mp5 mags making it even more useful. Very neat little toy overall.

I'm on the list for one.

As time permits, I'll have a barrel/bolt combo in 7.62 NATO, 5.56 NATO, 7.62x39, and 5.45x39

Vern, the gunsmith, is amazing. I've wanted one for years.

Best,
John Bear Ross

P.S. This is my first post. I've lurked here off and on for a few years, ever since I followed a link from www.a-human-right.com

Pleased to digitally meet you all.

I have this setup on my FAL.

Was a little pricey when I finished it all. But basically for $800 bucks,

I have a FAL that in less than one minute can switch between:

1) 16 inch short handguard 9mm that takes sten mags
2) 16 inch short handguard 308 lightweight carbine
3) 21 inch 308 match HB FF handguard "sniper" configuration

All on one receiver.

Am planning on sending it back so Meeper can build me a 10mm, 223, and 50 Beowulf.

I have to admit, a shorty FAL in 50 Beowulf would be a lot of fun for hog hunting. I just made an addendum to my 'must-have' list.

For that matter, the FAL pistol in 50 Beowulf might make a better CCW than .308.

There I go thinking like Birdman again....

Regards,
Rabbit.
