Whats the quietest 9mm suppressor?

And i was reading the specs on one and it said i could also use it with 300blk are all 9mm suppressors ok with it.

The quietest 9mm suppressor is probably going to be either the AAC TiRant or Silencerco Osprey. I know a lot of people also like the Liberty Mystic, but I'm not sure how it meters when compared to the other two (though I know its very close). FWIW if I was in the market for another full sized 9mm can, I would be buying a Liberty Mystc.

Rating suppressors for ammo is a very product specific thing. For instance, I have a 4" long 9mm micro suppressor that is definitely NOT rated for .300 Blk, but if you take a look at the Lierty Mystic, you'll see that they have approved a whole bunch of calibers for the can. IIRC FA supersonic .300 is ok as we'll as subsonic .308 and supersonic .223 as long as you're not using a SBR. But generally you can expect quite a few 9mm cans to be rated for subsonic .300, fewer rated for supersonic .300, and even fewer rated for FA. Don't shoot anything through a can unless the manufacturer has rated the can for it. When in doubt, call or email them. Most of them are great guys and will be glad to help out with any questions.

I second the Mystic. For your purpose(s) it's a "perfect" can. However, the Ti-Rant or Octane-9 would fit the bill nicely. The mystic is a bit quieter than the SWR Trident (precursor to the Octane-9) but it is bigger.

When you look at the numbers from various "tests" keep in mind that a 3db change is about what it takes for near universal discrimination that sound A was louder than sound B, and 1db is about the smallest change we can always detect under near ideal listening conditions.

A 3db difference will be about the difference of being 2 feet from the muzzle and then moving to 4 feet.

Don't let a few db sell you a can a lot bigger than you really need as size and weight also matters!

My vote:

Liberty Mystic or Octane 9 HD.

Both companies have top notch service. Octane has the edge on cleaning as you can use a sonicator on the baffles. Mystic can handle AK47 rounds but uses Ti baffles so stick with scrapping and dip. Be careful with the dip though..toxic chemicals that go through your skin.

Liberty uses a stainless steel monocore baffle in the Mystic. It's a Ti tube. You're perfectly okay cleaning it in an ultrasonic. But it is a monocore, so make sure your ultrasonic is big enough for it.

Good to know. My Mystic get's approved in a month or two. Glad that I can sonicate both the mystic and the Octane baffles.
