I don't see why not, an STI Edge weighs the same as an ordinary Government model. Delete the mag funnel, use low-profile magazine basepads, mount no-snag fixed sights intead of targget adjustables, and it's nearly as concealable.

As long as it runs, I don't see a downside except for the price (though sticker shock doesn't seem to disqualify Baer, Wilson, Brown, etc.).

In a perfect world, (One where you can shoot a BG without fear of reprisal or confiscation by jurisdictional constabulary) I definitely would carry my custom Mark IV with my own reloads. As the world is, not a chance. Factory gun, factory ammo, please.
