Range bag.

I just use an actual range bag. Its not like they are all that expensive, at least the one I bought. Its got pockets with removable padded covers for two pistols and plenty of space in the interior for ear muffs, safety glasses and lots of ammo. Its a no-name bag that I think I only spend $20-30 dollars for it at some sporting goods store.

There's really no substitute for a proper range bag.

Agreed 100%

I finally bought myself a MidwayUSA bag after I saw half a dozen guys carrying one around at my local club's IDPA matches. They're totally awesome. Pockets and compartments for tools everywhere. Very well thought-out, and well-executed bag.

And they're on sale for 39.99 until the end of the month - $30.00 off - and in stock! They stock out so often when they go on sale, so don't hesitate and wait until the end of the month or you'll lose out on the sale price.

The best part may be that it doesn't scream <GUN> if you carry it into the motel.

God I get sick of hearing how everything screams gun. People are absolutely oblivious.

If it really concerns you, get a few Nikon and Minolta patches and sew it onto the outside to disguise it as a camera bag. Or get a Graco Baby or Huggies patch, and fool 'em into thinking its a diaper bag.

Midway range bag here too. I used to use a backpack and a Plano box thats supposed to be used for gun cleaning/maintenance. Sometimes I'd use an old ammo can too.

I use a plastic Stanley toolbox. It's the top half of a combo that has wheels on the bottom. I rarely use the bottom part.

I use a huge camo military backpack.. its not a framed alice pack but its big and waterproof.

I carry alot of stuff in my bag and it gets up there in weight so a backpack helps.

Bucket boss tool bags
The Long boy will take an AR carbine that is broken down.

I think they look to much like Diaper Bags !

I was using a duffel with multiple compartments and it worked ok, but I bought the "compact" range bag on sale from Midway USA and it is stellar. Much sturdier, far better organized and even though it is smaller, I can fit just as much stuff in it.

It was an amazing bargain compared to all the other range bags I looked at locally.

I use a $10 duffle bag from Wal-mart. Pistols stay in the middle, hearing protection in one end pocket, eye protection on the opposite pocket, and ammo in the front pocket.

I suppose if I wanted a "real" range bag with logos and everything I could pay several times as much, but I doubt it would work any better (afterall - it's literally just for toting stuff around). This one has held up for about 4 years now, so no real durability issues either.

A lot of it depends on what I'm shooting.

Pistols, everything fits in an old back pack.

Rifles, most everything fits in an old back pack... so I might have the back pack and an extra bag or an ammo can.

Muzzle loader, I've got a tool box to hold the can of powder, pre lubed boxes of sabots and balls, nipple wrench, extra nipples, patches, wadding, percussion caps, cap loader, ball starter, etc.

I never purchased an official range bag.

Two of my pistols and three suppressors fit nicely in a converted laptop bag.

Then I use a shoulder bag for ammunition, accessories and other pistols.

Since I don't have to wear wearing protection unless shooting my rifles I just toss a pair of plugs in the shoulder bag.

Rifles have their own individual cases.

It is ALOT bigger than it looks...The bottom tray can hold full size cans of RemOil and the top has 2 earmuffs, a cleaning kit, 300 rounds of ammo, 3 holster and a few other odds and ins with room to spare.

I have the large Midway bag and a large Gatemouth/Bucketboss bag. The Midway holds the ammo and the Gatemouth holds everything else. I foresee that wheeled bucket boss in my future.:D

My range bag is an old hard sided brief case, like pilots carry. It use to be a heavy duty tool bag. There are some really neat ideas here. Lightman
