This is my first range report so if it contains errors, I apolgize. I measured everything to the best of my ability, center - center for group measurements. I did it a little strangely, shooting 20 rounds of cheaper ammo out the 4 small targets at the corner of each sheet, then shooting 5 shots at the main bullseye with match ammo.

Here is my new S.A. M1A Scout squad. It has an 18" barrel and a springfield synthetic stock. It weighs about 8 lbs without the scope, 9 lbs with (and no mag). For this range outing I used a Burris 2-7x Pistol Scope mounted on the stock springfield scout mount. I used Leupold QRW rings, zeroing was done on a different day, and I re-attached the scope when I got to the range with no adjustments other than tightening the rings to the mount.

All shots were taken at 100 yards at an indoor range from a bench rest. This is my first rifle to own and the first one I've shot in about 15 years, so the results might be slightly worse due to my inexperience. I did my best to take my skill out of the equation by stabilizing the rifle on the bench rest. The center groups on all 3 targets are the match ammo, the 4 corners are all either hunting or FMJ rounds. All ammo is .308/7.62x51mm of course.

If you called a couple of Fliers (Bad shots you knew were your fault) I would say 1.25 MOA. Any way you put it its better than my AK!!

That is some pretty good shooting and a great looking set up that seems to function as well as it looks. Dare I say, it looks like a keeper.

That is about typical accuracy for a bone stock M1A. It should be more than enough for anything such a rifle would be used for. Congrats.

Good thing is those groups will only get smaller with more trigger time behind the rifle. I think you found a load that it likes too.
