Finally got a chance to hit the range with the wife and the offspring to try out the wife's new 650CIA. Started out with a few hundred rounds from my Mitchell just to warm up and then off to the races. First thing I noticed was that her trigger with factory springs was lighter and smoother than my older model with wolf springs installed. That oversized rubber grip does wonders for absorbing recoil. Ran everything thru it from light 38sp 148gr WC's to 357 corbons. Everything hit within 2 inches of POA at 10yrds except the corbons which the wife swears she'll never shoot anyway. A total of 260 rds downrange without a hitch. Now she's hinting that she expects to see a pair of Crimson Trace grips for her B'day. Who am I to argue? Beats spending all day in a jewlery store.

Thanks for the report. I picked up a 651 CIA at a gunshow on Saturday. Haven't shot it yet though.

Edit: I guess the 651 is called "Protector". Same basic gun just with a shrouded hammer instead of DAO.

We had looked at the 651, along with the 950 ( I really wanted her to get that just so I could play with it). But she decided to go with the 650 because I've abused mine and it's still ticking right along. I might see if I can order some new factory parts for mine to see if it would be as smooth as her's is.

If you wanna mess with her, load it up with light 38's and one Buffalo Bore 357 hunting load. :D

Get a good laugh and your pillow so you can sleep on the couch.
