Went to the range on saturday and had a blast! This was my first time to the range with my full size 40 and it shot just like i have been reading about. Only had time to put 80 WWB 165gr target and 20 American Eagle 180gr down the hole but i am already getting used to the way it shoots.

One thing i noticed is from 15 feet i had the low lefts, but further out it was right on. I was going to take some pictures of the targets but couldnt seem to find my camera, anyway most groupings were around 4-5 inchs at 35 ft.

Its everything i expected and more and i enjoyed it very much. There is only two things i forgot to do, #1: Change the palm swells to see what felt better while shooting and, #2: try out some different grips to see what works best. Id really like to get to the point were i can compete competitively. All in all i am VERY pleased with my new M&P 40 and the way it shoots and feels.

If you have any questions feel free to ask because it will probably remind me of something i forgot to put in here.

That's because quite a few of us already know and there is little we can add. ;)

Other than its thickness - a little less comfortable to carry IWB than a slimmer gun, despite its shortness - I am very pleased with my 9mm compact (purchased Dec. 2006). It has not had one malfunction, even from the very first round. For that, I can forgive a lot. :)

Heh. Welcome to the club. I got a 9mm full-sized M&P. A week later, I stretched the budget to accommodate an M&Pc.
I still haven't shot the compact, but things have gotten really hectic here. i can't wait. The full sized is just sooooo good.

If you can make it happen, get that 9c NOW before the rebate thingy expires. This way you get the benefit of $50rebate+2 free mags!!!

Sounds like a good day at the range. The M&P is really the first gun that's swayed me from Sig. I like other guns, but I love my Sigs. Not until the M&P came along did I think anything could compete with my Sigs.

Two things about the M&P really stand out for me. Accuracy and the way the M&P tames the felt recoil of the .40 S&W. It's as soft or softer than from my P226ST.

Glocks can't hold a candle to the M&P.

+1. As much as I WANT to like glocks, I just hate the way they feel in my hand, and I don't like the way they shoot even though I shoot them fairly accurately. In fact, I really didn't like plastic guns at all. XDs don't balance nicely at all, and I just explained the problem with Glock.

Then I held an M&P. Suddenly, all was right and good in the world. I'm a dedicated revolver man, but these are some of the very few guns that could lead me astray from the revolving cylinder.

I felt the same way. I held all kinds of plastics before i felt the m&p and boy did it feel right. I wont be able to get the compact before the rebate ends which is ok with me. Life will go on.
