Finally got to take the Springfield XD 40 Service model to the range today that I picked up a week or so ago. I have had a couple of the earlier XD 9's since they first came out a few years ago, but saw the 40 at a local shop and it just kept calling to me until I finally gave in. The XD 9's have been flawless and very accurate, so I was expecting good things from the 40.
And I was not disappointed Put a box each of the WWB FMJ's (bonus pack) and HP's that Walmart sells through it. Outdoor range, windy, rain threatening, insects biting the @#$% out me, and shooting at NRA 25 ft targets from about 30-33 ft, it would put the shots into the 10 ring with monotonous regularity No failures of any kind, dropped the empties into nice little piles, if anything shot the hollow points more accurately than the ball. Two thumbs up!
