I just bought my first Savage. It is a 22-250 REM MODEL 110. Serial # F 500xxx I have tried for a few days to research it. I have come up with 1963-1970 build? Can not find much else. Rare or junk? Any value

I think the letter L denotes that it is made after 1968. Any Savages before '68 had no letter prefix.

Based on a little Google Fu it appears this may be a later production. Mid 90s

Junk? No. There are people who don't have the highest opinion of Savage rifles. I own two, one of them for almost 25 years. I've never had an issue with either of them, and they hit what I aim at ... so long as I do my part.

They may not be the most expensive rifle on the market, but I certainly don't consider them junk.

Not rare, but not junk by any means. Savage enjoys a great reputation for making accurate rifles.

Don't know that I'd be buying modern Savage bolt guns for collector value. Many of them shoot great. Gotta be aware of what you're getting in terms of condition and price.

Certainly not a rarity, just a standard production rifle from one of America's more reputable gun companies. The 110 is to Savage as to the Model 70 is to Winchester or the 700 is to Remington.
