Like he said..."anyway stock is same color purple under the receiver", and I am inclined to believe him it looked factory to me. Though I feel sure he will post additional pictures for thou disbelievers. :D

As someone who has had a wee bit of experience with color and polymers etc. --That's kinda how 2RCo happened. I am thiniking this was done to more than one gun. They mixed the chemicals for these much more than one stock at a time. I'm sure there was a whole batch and GB seems to prove it.

Now thinks to the idiotnet alot of curiosities that were rarely if ever seen are becomming aparent.

2rco, i think you are right. i had a guy who is a remington collector repeat to me a story he had heard about the purple nylon. he said while mixing the plastic for a batch of nylons (256 in a batch) that a mistake was made and the color came out purple. instead of throwing out the whole batch remington went ahead and made the guns with the purple stocks, he also said the guns were made in 1960 only for several months. and the purple one i had was made in 1960 according to the date code so this story sounds feasible. anyway thought i would pass this along. i have since sold my purple nylon. mine was the first one that ended on gunbroker without the reserve being met. gun was sold sold after the auction so i did not relist it.. tks, jim
