I need a second set of dies to use in a single press. Is there really any difference in the RCBS or Redding 3 die carbide sets? I see the Redding is more $$, but is it better.

The sizer seems a tad slicker. That said, I have had a couple of carbide inserts come loose in Redding dies, and one in a Dillon, but never an RCBS. All great companies, and all will fix any problems.

I don't think the Redding sizer is better enough to warrant the price difference. I do love their expander.

You can not go wrong with a die set from either Redding or RCBS.

For single stage stuff, you are probably fine with either one. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but for progressive I wish I had a set of dillon dies for .357. That says alot as I am a Hornady LNL AP user. For some reason the .357 sizer die likes to hold onto the primers after decapping. It really screws up the progessive cycle. The dillon dies have the snappy decapping pin thingy that has been a life saver on my 9mm reloading.

I'd get the RCBS die set, but I also use a Redding profile crimp die for crimping. The RCBS seat/crimp die gets used for seating only.

That profile crimp die puts pretty enough crimps on to bring a tear to your eye.

Yes. Mostly because of the really great expander plug. (They copied Lyman's M expander.)
