So, out of curiosity, can someone tell me the value of the following type of revolver? S&W M19-4, heavier barrel, 4", no red ramp front sight, pinned and recessed, with wide & serrated target trigger and hammer/some S&W trigger work, and the larger "combat/target" grips. Bluing is ~80%, maybe 75%. Timing is perfect, bore is about 95% (prior owner only shot lead .38 special through it, mainly).

Thanks!

That is reducing collector's value considerably. Nevertheless, the model 19 is a popular revolver and should be around $325 to 375.

How much was it shot for the bore to be 95% only? Is the ejector rod still blued?

Ejector rod's still blued. Maybe the bore's a better percentage--probably 99%, really--and I'm overly pessimistic in describing the blue. On the whole, the bluing is decent, with a slight bit of flecking here and there; perhaps it was stored in leather for a while. No pitting, just some minor holster wear (i.e. on the edge of the flutes, if you look, you can see it, and some faintly near the muzzle). It's probably closer to 90~95%, but with some of the minor imperfections that the pic below don't show....enh.

Here's a cell-phone picture:

The place said they'd take 10% off that price, and my roommate's really toying with buying it.

ETA: Roomie said it was a 19-4.

I just paid $530 for a 19-3 with 2 1/2" barrel. Excellent condition. Gunbroker auction and the $530 included shipping, insurance, and FFL fees.

I may have paid too much, but at least I know there was some other fool willing to pay five dollars less than I paid.
