Sid McMath was from Arkansas. He graduated from law school and joined the Marines where he served as a combat officer during WW II. His military career was brilliant and is surely deserving of admiration and gratitude. He earned several awards for bravery and retired at the rank of brigadier general.

Then he went into politics and served as governor of Arkansas. It was his activities as a lawyer in private practice that deserves attention from gun owners.

McMath was the attorney who first sued gun makers and gun retailers for the criminal misuse of firearms. At the time Sid McMath was the single greatest threat to the Second Amendment. His objective was to put the gun companies out of business. He was so successful and the threat to American firearms manufacturing was so imminent that Congress passed a law protecting gun makers and sellers from lawsuits stemming from third party actions.

A real hero for his military career, as a lawyer he was absolutely an enemy to gun owners. I just thought forum members should be aware of McMath's history where guns are concerned.
