Soon I'll be moving back to New Mexico (Santa Fe) and I was wondering what I need to concern myself with (if anything) in regards to my CCW permit?

I know New Mexico has reciprocity with Arizona so does that mean that once I move back and become an New Mexican resident again I can just keep carrying with my AZ permit? I know if I visit New Mexico they recognize my permit, but do the rules change if I become a New Mexico resident again and no longer a resident of Arizona?

Do I need to notify the Arizona DPS to let them know I'm moving and give them a change of address and all that?

Or do I have nothing to worry about, just move back and keep carrying concealed like I was still living in Arizona?

Thanks in advance!

You are required to send new address to AZ DPS.

AZ license is still valid, but you can't carry more than one pistol concealed.

It took years to get CCW passed here, I'd like to see more people licensed so they don't repeal it, for lack of interest.

I think once you move

your AZ permit becomes a non resident permit
and you have to get a new permit in new mex.
Good luck in Santa Fe, I hear it's beautiful there.

I got this off the New Mexico DPS website, does this mean I'm ok?

To transfer a license from another state. A person seeking to transfer a license from another state may file an application for a New Mexico renewed license on the form prescribed by the department. An applicant for transfer shall not carry a concealed handgun in New Mexico until the applicant receives a New Mexico license unless they have a license from a state that has been accepted by transfer, recognition or reciprocity by New Mexico.
