Well i emailed my representive about a month or so ago and finally i recevied a letter back from him in the mail. (i figured he had read my email and didnt give two thoughts to it.) well i was wrong i recevied an actual letter today back from him this is what he wrote:

Dear Mr. L
Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition on H.R. 1022, The Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act. I always appreciate hearing from constituents and greatly benefit from knowing your views.

As a United States Representative, I took an oath to "support and defend" the Constitution, and this includes the Second Amendment. That's why I have sponsored legislation, the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act," which will prohibit frivolous lawsuits against the firearms industry, and why I have consistently Voted for legislation that protects our right to "keep and bear arms." I am proud that this is now public law.

As you may be aware, H.R. 1022 was introduced February 13, 2007 by representative Carolyn McCarthy. This anti-second amendment legislation proposes to reinstate for ten years the ineffective assault weapons ban that would once again restrict the lawful purchase of a firearm. I firmly believe that law-abiding Americans should be allowed to possess firearms to protect there property, themselves and their loved ones. Please be assured I will continue my strong defense of the Second Amendment.

Again, thank you for contacting me regarding this issue. If i can be of further assistance in this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. With kindest regards, I am,

Sincerely,
Cliff Stearns
US Representative

im not sure if he knows the full extent of HR 1022 though, but still cool that he wrote me back.

Funny,

I got the exact same letter back from my REP. Word for word, so it would seem they use form letters too...

lol gunner, that is the first thing my wife said when she saw it, "you know he copied and pasted your name on that" i hollard at her for stealing my political thunder and agreed with her lol, its still nice to see that he took the time to write back though i figured he would either send an email back or not reply at all. Funny thing though he doesnt really come right out and say he will vote for or against if it gets that far

is she the same one that is trying to introduce the FL semi auto ban? out of tallahase

jorg that was an error on my part, i dont look at the screen when im typing something off paper and im to lazy to proof read (proof reading always got me a bad mark in typing class lol)
