Recomend a pocket gun?

I realize this discussion has been going on for a long time now, but Ruger's LCR or LCP are two popular firearms. The SP-101 also is a fine .357 that (when using 125gr JHPs) pack perhaps the most punch for the size of any gun discussed here. The LCR is too light a platform for the mighty .357 and the SP-101 is almost too light. But in the heat of a confrontation, it's more than manageable. (Besides, the LCR slips the barrel length below the 2-inch standard I will not go beyond.)

i have the LCP as well as the 238, and i prefer the 238. its been 100% reliable and shoots circles around the LCP

Colt .32 Hammerless. A favorite of Humphrey Bogart. Of course, pockets were bigger back in the 1930's and 40's.

Honestly, there are widespread problems with the .380 across the board, some with ammo and some with design. The Ruger and Keltec have been pulled from many approved carry lists for LEO's, and the Kahr .380/9mm tops the list. I'd take a serious look at the S&W Shield or maybe the LC9;)

Diamondback DB9. I weighed mine last night and fully loaded 6+1 and with my modified Crimsontrace laser attached weighed 16.3 ounces. With my holster and 2 extra 6 round magazines for a total of 19 rounds of 9mm, everything weighed in at 26 ounces. God Bless :)

That's strange Lawdawg45 that the LCP and P3AT would be pulled as both are highly regarded in reliabilty but the Kahr P380 would be approved because I have read numerous posts over at the Kahr Talk forum of many owners who were totally frustrated with the unreliable nature of their P380,many going back to Kahr more than once.

Now I can readily say my PM9 is 100% so I can easily see why an agency would approve one.
But then again I have also read over at the above mentioned gun forum several people having reliability issues with their CM9's.
Go figure.

I own the Taurus TCP 738 and have owned the Kel Tec P3AT. I have shot the S&W bodyguard and the Ruger LCP on a few different occassions.

I think the Taurus is head and shoulders above the rest (for me). Best ergos, lowest recoil, most accurate, slide lock, and cheapest

I have the Sig p290 coming to me. Hopefully I will be able to recommend it in the near future.

You Sir were very fortunate. My PM-9 was plagued with feeding issues, even after a feed ramp polish. Most of the Kahr's pulled were the .380's though.

My 3 smallest guns; Kahr PM9, smallest, easiest to pocket carry, S&W .38 Airweight, pretty lite/small, but bigger than the Kahr. G26, biggest of the 3 + 10 round mag. A little too big for true pocket carry.

Too much weight is the enemy of comfortable pocket carry, too little weight is the enemy of control and accuracy if you ever have to use it.with that in mind I think the kahr pm9 or ruger lc9 have a good balance of light weight and controlability in a 9mm subcompact.Try them and see which one fits.I don't like the rohrbaugh sights or magazine release and I had too many issues with kel-tecs.The new s&w shield is a little larger but it may work if you can find one.
