Recomend a pocket gun?

I can't recommend the Diamondback DB380 and DB9 enough, did hours of research and handling and decided on the Diamondback, wanted the smallest possible gun for the caliber for pocket carry and no safety or slide stops to snag anywhere

J-Frame. It has never suffered a jam, FTF, FTE, or squib. Nothing to snag a pocket. Not the smallest pocket gun, but always goes bang and is pretty to boot.

Five 125gr Nyclads that hit where they're intended to hit is what I call gun control.

BERETTA or SIG

My choices for pocket guns are the ones that have worked for me. They have all proven concealable and reliable.

A SIG 232 aluminum frame model in .380ACP with night sites is my first choice when I am wearing clothes that will conceal it. It is light, very reliable and very accurate. It is not that small, but very light and recoil is not a problem with this pistol.

I use REMINGTON .380ACP jhp in the 100 round boxes. This is not the most powerful load, but it feeds perfectly and is so inexpensive, I use it for carry and practice.

The BERETTA Tomcat model 3032 in .32ACP is my second choice. It is lighter and much smaller than the SIG. It is also very reliable and easy to shoot. I carry it when my clothes will not hide the SIG.
I use COR BON Powerball for my carry load and either AGUILLA, FN or S&B for my practice ammo. The WINCHESTER White Box ammo with their flat tips would not feed reliably in the TOMCAT.

I used to use a S&W model 38 in .38 Special, but the SIG holds more rounds, is quicker to reload and comes with night sites. That relegated the S&W to the safe.

I would prefer a mid size 9m.m. like the BERETTA 92 Compact, GLOCK 19, SIG 225 or WALTHER P99 on my side and when I go out for a walk at night, that is what I choose.
The pocket guns are with me the rest of the time as they just disappear.

The LCP plus box of American Eagle FMJs was the best choice I have ever made for a handgun/ammo combo.

The Kel-Tec P3AT if you do not want to spend alot. If you can afford it, the SIG 238. It adds to the cost, but a set of C.T. laser sights help alot! That & some good loads! That is what I would recommend. ;)

Another vote for the LCP. Priced right, made by a reputable manufature, sort of minamum on the caliber though.

Ruger LCP is the lightest and most concealable you will find but the DAO long trigger pull demands constant practice to keep it familiar. My favorite is the Beretta Tomcat 32acp with 7 plus 1 capacity, manual safety and double/single trigger ease. A little wider and heavier than the LCP but that's ok with me.

I like the 238...I want to see the 938...at 30 oz it could be a little heavy for pocket carry...

I like (depending on the pocket) the Seecamp .32, a scandium/titanium .38 J-frame, and a Walther PPS 9. Of those, my favorite is the .38.

I have owned other pocket guns in calibers from .22 Mag to .45 Colt; but I wouldn't ever grab one of those if I had the three above available.
What were you using to pocket carry 45 Colt? (I'm using a Taurus 450UL)

My NAA mini 22 mag goes everywhere and is always with me. Weighs just over six ounces. Its easy to forget its in my pocket.

+1...and if you're into lotsashots, check out the Kel-Tec P11. 11rd minimum. I actually carry an S&W M49 Bodyguard.

Ahem. LEOs are civilians, also; but "public" citizens. The rest of us non-LEOs are "private" citizens.
I say this with full respect and appreciation for those paid to run toward gunfire. Just please don't forget that you are indeed one of us (non-military citizens, that is). :)

At least here in Birmingham, AL, the police use a sticker and not an engraving pen when holding a gun in evidence.

I am a former Glock 27 owner. I now carry a Ruger LCP full time. It's not the ideal cartridge when considering all handgun cartridges available but it is at the top end of the mousegun calibers. The point is to have it with you at all times because you can't plan when you are going to need it.

The idea of an airweight revolver is also a consideration because of the lighter weight.

I am thinking with the 9mms only a little bit bigger than the .380 and costing about the same, I might as well take the extra stopping power of the 9mm.
If you are satisfied with the .380, my personal choice is the Kahr P380. If you want a 9mm, the Kahr CM9 is only slightly larger:

P380
L= 4.9"
H= 3.9"
W= 0.75"

CM9
L= 5.42"
H= 4.0"
W= 0.9"

IMO the CM9 is probably one of the best choices for a "pocket" 9mm.

Guess I will join in.
I started out carrying a DiamondBack 380 and I could shoot it well and it fit my hand better than any other micro .380.
But it was not reliable.
It was replaced by DB but the replacement also failed and was repaired twice.
After the second time the replacement 380 went back to the factory I bought a Ruger LCP.
I have put roughly 300 rounds of many types of ammo thru it and the little pistol has been absolutely faultless.
Not one failure to feed or eject.
It weighs 12 onces fully loaded and I front pocket carry it in a leather RKBA pocket holster and once in the pocket you would never even know I had the pistol on me.
My other choice that I carry is the Kahr PM9.
Very well made but expensive.
I paid for the stainless night sight equipped model including taxes a price of $710.00 two years ago.
I also purchased a RKBA leather pocket holster for it as well.
Fully loaded my PM9 weighs 20 ounces.
That's pretty light for a 9mm and the pistol is easy to pocket carry as long as you are not wearing tight jeans.
The LCP can be carried very easily even in the tightest jeans by comparison.
I rotate back and forth between these two depending on what I am wearing or where I intend on going.
I had a Smith model 37 Airweight revolver that was no where near as easy to pocket carry because the over all length of the revolver had the butt handle constantly rising up and peaking out of my pocket.
Some dude at a store standing beside me saw it one afternoon and that was pretty much the end of me pocket carrying it.
I tried the IWB carry mode with the Smith but just cant stand a gun constantly jabbing me in the gut,side,kidney,etc. and I simply refuse to dress around the tool by wearing baggy waist pants or non tucked in shirts.
I sold the Smith not very long ago to a guy that sincerely wanted it for IWB carry.
Go figure.
So at this point I am quite happy with my two choices I highly recommend the same set up for others.
Thick and heavy pistols to be carried for hours on end seven days a week just wont fly with me.

Edit to add some other experiences....I did own a Colt Mustang for a while and finally sold it to help purchase the PM9.
I was carrying it in a Bianchhi IWB holster for a short period.
Since in carry mode I had the hammer cocked with the safety on I discovered one evening after taking the holstered pistol off my belt that some how or another the safety had been pushed to ready to fire.
That pistol has a pretty light trigger.
Just about made me sick!!
So, for myself, no more of that nonsense.
I cant even imagine carrying that or one of it's clones in pocket carry mode.
I am sure several here will get offended by this but that's not my reason for saying this.

The Smith revolver in pocket mode was easier to draw quickly because of the butt handle design than my LCP or Kahr but again the overall length made mine not nearly as pocket friendly.
Hope this helps.

A 9mm pocket-sized gun? I suggest the Kahr CM or PM9. I used a PM9 (the CM wasn't available at the time) as a pocket gun for several years, once the "bugs" were worked out of it.

I picked up a kahr cm9 for pocket carry and never regretted it. I hardly notice it wearing dickies which have smaller pockets than most of my other pants. Also check out the rohrbaughs
