Changing from hotmail. Recommend a 2A friendly e-mail address, or at least not anti. I'm tired of going to MSN.com to sign in and seeing Obama's mug.

o_O I don't think Email addresses have a Political standing.

As for MSN.com

Well you can change your home page but remember that Like him or not Obama is big news right now and is going to be reported on.

I don't know about 2A stance...but I always recommend Gmail to people. It's the best free email around to my mind.

Plus since gmail is on google you'll always be right there to start searching when people quip "google is your friend" :)

Gmail is a very nice email service (I have a gmail address), but it is a service of Google - who has been somewhat anti in the past by refusing to allow advertising from firearms related businesses.

Buy a domain

Since the OP didn't specify free, I would suggest buying your own domain, that's what I did. If you shop around, you can find a host company fairly cheap. :)

I've been using Outdoors Unlimited (outdoorsunlimited.net) for years. They support and donate to outdoor sports activities including NRA.

This group has been very responsive to my few support queries.

I refuse to deal with Google, Yahoo, AOL or any of the rest where I can avoid doing so.

And if you get bored with that they have links at the bottom of the page:

U.S. Sportsmen News
NRA News
NSSF News
Current Bulletpoints
NWTF News
SASisters News
FHFH News

Wait, you want to change your email address because you choose to log in through a portal site which features national news including pictures of the frontrunning democratic candidate? Why don't you just go to www.hotmail.com and bypass MSN altogether? Likewise, you can turn off the "Today" page and it doesn't display any news, even within Hotmail.

Second the buy a domain. Then you can have gmail manage the mail on that domain for free.

Or, even better, get yourself a static IP, buy a book on linux and in about a week you can have your own mailserver. We gun guys tend to be do it yourselfers anyway, and there is nothing mystical about running a mailserver. Built mine 6 years ago and have rebooted it about 3 times since then.

Jorg,
Many forums do not recognize hotmail for whatever reason. Also, they do not portray Obama as just news, the stench of bias towards him is overwhelming therefore my permanent e-home is up for bid. Why not seek out good company?

DIYer's,
Good idea, but I'm afraid I'm not that good with computer's. I'm 400 posts into THR and I still have not taken the time to figured out how to quote somebody in my replies.

Gmail.... Not only is it free, but it's better than any paid email account I've ever used.

Hmm. I have a pro-2A domain and I'd be happy to set you up an email account if you like. PM me for the domain and info if interested.

Alternatively, buy a domain name yourself (I use godaddy) and most registrars give you the option of adding email services for a small fee. That way you get your own [email protected] and they worry with making it run.

Gmail is nice as well for most anything you'll ever need.
