I've been looking for a Ruger KP93D for some time, and they seem to be impossible to find. Can anyone recommend another all metal double stack 9mm handgun?

Beretta 92 (has forged aluminum frame) would be my first choice. CZ-75b (cast steel frame) would be my second choice. Sigs are also metal (aluminum). However, I do not like DA/SA so I have neither. But the Beretta would definitely be my first choice.

SIG P226, P229, CZ 75B or SP01, Beretta 92FS (hate the safety placement), are all good choices. SIGs come with the best stock triggers, nightsights IMO. I have 6 SIGS, 3 Berettas, and only one CZ a 75D PCR compact, it is a great CCW. If I could only own one of these it would be a toss up between the SIG P226 and P229. Probably the P229 as it is small enough to use for a CCW, and big enough for a range gun.

I'd go with a Beretta 92FS for home defense or duty use, and a Sig P228/229 for concealed carry. With Mec-Gar magazines you will have lots of ammo on tap.

CZ-75B is my favorite 9x19 doublestack, with the BHP in second place. Locally, I can still get the polycoated CZs for under five bills....

Did you mean "9mm pistol designed with a double stack magazine"?

"Hi-cap", "high capacity" and other similar terms are antigunner-inspired.

No designer sits down to create a "high capacity" magazine, but a magazine with the best capacity for his intended vision.

I bought a Ruger P89 in excellent condition for $225 out the door.
They are the best deal right now in 9mm pistols in my opinion.
Reliability is up there(or better) with the $600 and up pistols.

I would say the cz 75b as my first choice, the only down side of the gun I have found is that the springs seem to need to be replaced soon or from the start but that's not really a big deal if you just grab some new mag springs, recoil springs(for the browning hi-power), and a new extractor spring. Seems to work best if you get over power springs from wolf except for the recoil spring, the springs they have there are for the eaa witness but most are an exact match but the recoil spring works better if you get it for the browning hi power as the one for the eaa witness is a little bigger then the cz stock one and the hi power is a drop in replacement.

the RIA 1911 also looks like it would be a great choice.

You can get a mil-surp CZ-75 pre-b here:http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.c...m_id=100000121 for $349. Check it out!

Having bought one of those, I'm going to recommend against it, unless you specifically want a Pre-B. Considering the increased difficulty of sourcing mags, aftermarket accessories, and replacement parts, and the fact that it IS used, IMHO it's worth the ~$125 premium to get a new CZ-75B. If they were used 75B's for that price I'd be far more of a value.

Hi power clones can be found pretty cheap and the FM, FEG both seem to be quite servicable.

Other than that, the S&W 5906s available online from CDNN and others would be a really good choice too.

Just make sure you get the actual P35 clone if you get an FEG (and not the "Hi-Power" style model they sell).

The 'true clone' FEG BHP model is the PJK-9HP. The 'HiPower style' models that are not part-compatible with the BHP include the P9R/P9M.

That's correct. My FEG is a Charles Daly and a true hi-power clone. It was the best gun for the money I've bought.
