I'm gonna start reloading for .223 and 7.62x39 soon and all I've ever done was 9mm. I'll need a case trimmer and some kind of crimp remover (for all the LC brass!). I want to keep it on the cheap, but I'd love to hear what you all recommend. For removing crimp, I'm considering the 4D die, but I'm hoping there's something better. Comments on the Lee Zip Trim? What about case gauges?

I started out using the RCBS hand-crank trimmer but large runs of .223 and .308 about KILLED my hand. The RCBS was inexpensive and did the job but just wore me out. I tried the Lyman powered trimmer but actually used up the motor! I have settled on a Forster collet/pilot device that I use with my drill press. This isn't too cheap and initial set-up can be a chore but once you get goin' it's easy to trim 100 pieces in thirty minutes or so.

I use an RCBS swaging die to handle primer pocket crimps. Mine wasn't expensive 25 years ago but I think that they are still decently cheap. ;)
