Congratulations on your purchase. I was all set to suggest a M&P 2.0 in whatever size suited you. Nothing wrong with Glock though. We all have our preferences.

G21 is a nice gun and 45 ACP is a dream to handload. YouTube videos should give you most of the instructions needed to handload ammo and check out the reloading forum here.

I highly recommend the CZ75 or so series of pistols.

Factory refurb Sig p22x in .40 S&W. I bought two 15 years ago and they're still ticking. Best triggers I have.

Recently (3 mos ago) they were going for $450 - $650 however they are now nowhere to be had :(

You love 1911s and are new to guns.

You need mags, tons of ammo, and training if you are willing.

I say Springfield defender 1911 (a milspec re-branded). Good sights, feed any hollow point.

You will spend 500 or so on the 1911 and can spend the rest on mags ammo holster and training. You also want to set back some ammo for a rainy day.

Nice thing is if you only have 45 ball (fmj) ammo, it's much more suitable than 9mm fmj or 38/380 etc fmj for self defense.

Whoops... Missed that he bought a glock 21!

They don't work for me, but I respect that platform.

Great home defense or open carry. Good job!

My first gun was a bersa thunder.

We have people making suggestions to someone who no longer needs them. We don't need to continue that.
