Recommendations or suggestions on a cheek riser

I considered making one like in that last picture for my Mosin nagant and I still might I just have to find the right hardware.

If you’re referring to making an adjustable comb stock for your mosin (assuming you don’t like Boyd’s offerings for it), KMW hardware is as good as it gets.

I do like the boids offerings they're just much more expensive than I would like. I will definitely look up kmw hardware, thanks!

I have a Savage model 10 bolt gun that I've mounted a scope on. It's a pretty big scope, so it's mounted fairly high... so I'm looking for a cheek riser.

I bought an elastic riser... you use foam inserts to affect the rise you want, but as you can see from the photo, it still slides up, and the foam rolls over. I hate it.

My original thought was to source a cheek riser for something like an M1 Garand... a leather one... or something similar. Quite honestly, I have zero experience with anything like this... but I says to myself 'Self, I'll bet some of them High Roaders would have experience with something like this!'

Anyone have a setup they really like, or recommendations on where to look? The idea of leather seems like it would be better than nylon/plastic/etc... but I don't really know.

Foam tube cut in half and duct tape.

I know Boyd’s stocks cost more than they used to, but the last KMW hardware I bought was more than that orange Boyd’s stock above o_O

I’ve made a few cheek rests from a variety of fabrics. Deer skin is too thin and stretchy but very comfortable. Canvas works okay, but I think I’ll get a half yard of oilskin and try that. The OP is right about the riser sliding off center on the Savage Accustock. I don’t like the way they are so narrow at the top. I’m still trying a few more ideas, I’ll get it right eventually.

The only ding against it in my experience is that when you use all the available height, like I did, you have to mount it far enough back to clear the bolt when you are removing it. On my rifle, that puts it just a little further back than would be ideal. It still works fine but if I had to pick a nit, that would be it.

I'll have to look at that, then. I'm 6'2" and I really get up on a rifle... that's why I have the scope mounted as far forward as I can get it without using a cantilever mount. I also pull the bolt to stow it in it's case... it has the Savage coffee can bolt knob...

I am in the same boat - 6'2' and my scopes have to be mounted as far forward as they will go. I have the bolt out a lot for cleaning, etc. so I really didn't want something I had to move them reset every time I pulled the bolt out. I attached a photo of the interaction between the bolt on my Ruger and the titan rest. The bolt is all the way back against the lock in the photo. Once I unlock it it slides back and lifts up just enough to clear the rest.

The placement is a bit of a compromise. If it could be an inch further forward it would be better. Between that and a rest I would have to move constantly, I prefer this solution personally. To each their own obviously on that.
