Red-Dot Scope For Ruger MkIII

Well as the title says I'm thinking about getting a Red-Dot scope for my Ruger MkIII Competition Target model which I use it mainly for plinking.
I'd would like to know which ones are better than the others.
Also would it be a good idea to put a magnification scope on it rather than a Red-Dot?

you could settle for one or the other or...

you could get the best of both worlds, red dot and magnification scope. a True Glo 2 X that i have on my ruger in this pic:

works great for me and the 25 yard accuracy cant be beat! you can find them at gander mnt , or sportsmans warehouse that ive seen them at. -Eric

I have an Ultra Dot 25 on my Ruger MarkII 22/45, deadly accurate. Makes you look like a better shooter, no wait, it makes you a better shooter The scopes not very big, but you can tell its on there.

I put a Millett red dot on my 22/45 and am having trouble getting used to the extra bulk, but it sure does help my old eyes.
