What's your "Red Rider" this Christmas? What weapon would you love to have under your tree?

Mine is a Nagant bolt action with accessories and ammo.

"You'll shoot yer eye out kid..."

You still get Christmas presents?

Last year I spent $1,500 on my two kids families and I got a $25 buck McDonald's gift card and a little box of chocolates.

The wife ate them all on the way home before I even got a taste!

Bah! Humbug! :cuss:

I dont have a BB gun anymore. :( I could at least shoot that indoors when the weather is lousy.

My bro and I tend to buy eachother parts instead of whole weapons. Last xmas I bought him a surefire forestock for his 870. My bro bought me parts for my 870, M44, and M91/30 for my birthday. Ammo would be a nifty gift this year.

My best friend's daughter made out like a bandit. Last night I helped wrap her 26 presents.

I'm planning on an actual Red Ryder to replace the one I inherited from gramps.
His was bought used off a neighbor back in '48 and I think it deserves retirement (finally) and a spot above the front door nowadays. The old girl will still light up a stray dogs eyes though. ;)

Anything, really.

So far, my dad seems to have good taste in firearms. A Luger in .22 (imported by Stoeger way back when) which he still has, and everything else he points out is either fun or so cheap to shoot (he knows my lover of .22) that it's fun. :D

Even ol' Lurch there got a smile from my Henry lever-action.

The only unwelcome thing from family this year is that, now that her own grandkids are too old, my aunt sent my old baby blankets and such to my mom. This is not a conversation I'm looking forward to.

Not a thing under the christmas tree for me . But when I see a 17 Hornet rifle I like there will be a new rifle, scope, sling, reloading dies, and brass comming my way. Great grand pa s do thing like that.. In a few days ,my son in law is going to help me go thru my fishing stuff and set up fishing tackel boxes for each of my three great grand sons. Because the kids are spread out and have to travel to visit us ,we will have all but one at our home a few days after Christmas. I got a 19 pound turkey to feed the crew ond my wife do the other cooking and bakeing.

When I turned 60, I bought myself a Red Ryder BB gun. My dad never let me have one when I was a child. My wife thinks I still am. The new ones are not as powerful as the old ones. All my buds back then had BB guns....chris3

I would certainly hope so. A friend of mine had two of em when we were ten years old or so - about sixteen years ago. We used to put sunglasses on and have "play" wars, shooting at each other with the rifles from behind these giant dirt mounds in a nearby construction area. It wasn't uncommon to see the BBs strike our clothes and we wouldn't even feel the impact. Needless to say, whenever we decided to shoot birds or something, we used my BB guns, not his.

My red ryder this year is a .357 lever action 1892 clone. Lever action carbine!

My 10 year old son is getting a Red Ryder BB gun this year. Lock up your cats!

Not getting any guns that I know of this year. As far as gun-related stuff I know I have a Chronograph and some video shooting glasses under the tree.

Haven't really bought any firearms related gifts this year either, though for his birthday this year I did get my brother a .270 Rossi and scope (mostly so he could stop borrowing my rifle :)).

I never had an actual "Red Ryder", but I had something pretty close. Pretty sure it was even made by Daisy it was just a bit bigger than the Red Ryder but was still a spring powered one with a lever. I loved just going out the back yard with that thing knocking over soda cans :).

Heck even though I hadn't shot one in years I remember winning a bet in high school when I was able to use one of my friend's little brother's BB guns to peg a soda can at about 40 yards :D.

When I was about 11 years old, my Dad bought me a Daisy pump, spring fired 50 shot tube-loaded air rifle for Xmas after constant pleading by me and total disagreement from my Mother. It was my best present ever.

The thrill quickly turned into a cat-and-mouse game with my Mother who would constantly hide it since she did not like guns. Eventually, the sad day occurred when she got rid of it and the gun was never to be seen again.

I told my Mother that when I grew older, I would buy as many guns as I like. Although I have purchased many a gun, I never taunted her with the info. I just accepted the fact that that was the way most Mothers were.

I’m into handguns more than rifles so I went out and purchased this Walther P38, i.e., Crosman C41 air pistol; a childhood memory reincarnated. With a 18 round clip and 495fps, it’s a fun plinker.

For those would-be buyers out there, “Be careful, it could put your eye out”.:what:

I own that Crossman myself. I use it for pigeon control. I never had a red rider, but did have a daisy when I was 9 that was a doozy! I pumped her up to something like 50 and she'd blow right through crows. I took out a whole nest of hornets with her the summer I got a scope. Miss that baby!

I had a 1938 model---my brother was on the roof of the house showing off to his friends
by shooting at me. I hid behind a tree--it was not big enuf to cover my arms.
When the blood started coming out of my arm---dear old grandma came out & wrapped
good old Red Ryder around a tree. I had tears in my eyes & not from BB's.
We could not afford another Red Ryder--so much for BB guns.
I made up for it with better weapons later.-----------:D:D:D

There won't be any guns for me under the tree this year. However, in the last 3 weeks I bought myself a new CZ-452 Style in .22lr and a new CZ-455 American in .22lr. Got Nikon scopes fo them, too. Hopefully, the boss lady will have a brick or three of ammo under the tree for me. HOHOHO.

I bought a Red Ryder BB gun for my boy a couple years ago for Christmas. I still haven't given it to him. Maybe next year. If I could win the auction that I've been monitoring for the last week, I'd be happy as can be.

I'd like to find a minty fresh Marlin bolt action .22 under my tree this year but that isn't going to happen.I might dig out my father's old Red Ryder and put a bow on it just for fun.I watched the Christmas Story around Thanksgiving just to get in the mood.Merry Christmas everyone.tom.

I've told my wife and two grown children for three years running that I wanted a Red Ryder for Christmas and all they do is look at me without saying anything. Same thing happened a couple of years ago with a vintage '74 Fender Musicmaster short scale bass. It never showed. The day after Christmas, I went down and bought it. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas to me!

And to all of you! God bless us, every one!
