Redfield scopes?

bought the 4-12 Revolution @ a year ago for my TC .308. Have been very pleased with the quality for the money. Are there better scopes available for more $$? Of course.

Well I got out and put about 80 rounds through the rifle this morning. Bore sighted it before I left and was only off about an inch either way. Shot some American Eagle ballistic tips and some Fiocchi. Originally shot with it set at 6x then dropped it down to 2x and was getting much better groups for some reason. Would be ragged holes then I would mess up and put one a couple inches away. Overall shot pretty good. Nice glass and was easy to sight in. Have to wait longer and see how it holds up and keeps zero.

I have two 2-7x33 ACU Range mounted on AR15 rifles. For those of us who can't or won't spend a lot for a scope, you really can not go wrong with the Revolution. Buy with confidence and enjoy shooting your weapon...

For an inexpensive scope how are they? Haven't heard a lot about them but what I have heard is all good. Specifically looking at the 2-7x 33 to replace the crappy Bushnell 3-9 that same on my Savage Axis. Love the rifle but hate the scope. Its in .223. See them going for about $140. Just looking for something for plinking/ target shooting/ hunting various critters at close range under 200 yards. Appreciate any input on the scope or any other suggestions for fairly cheap.
I've got a 2-7x Redfield on my Ruger .338RCM and have had no issues. Holds zero and is nice and compact. Decent glass for the price. I would buy another.

I have a couple of the older Redfield's...steel tube, fixed power at either 3X or 4X and a newer 3 X 9 Tracker. All have given good service...good glass for the money. I buy the older fixed power ones whenever I find them at a decent price.

I've found over the years when zeroing or going for accuracy on paper, if I crank it all the way up it magnifies my wobble even at the bench, and I get better results by shooting it pretty much at the lowest scope setting.

A more precise centering in the black bull is also easier for me to get with a standard cross hair at lower magnification.

When did Redfield make steel tubed scopes? I know that most of the original Weaver scopes had steel tubes but never knew that Redfield scopes were made from anything but aluminum. I'd be interested in learning which Redfield scopes were made from steel.

By the way, the Redfield "Revolution" scopes are nothing more (or less) than re-badged Leupold "Rifleman" economy models. Nice scopes in any event and they carry Leupold's lifetime warranty.
