Redfield scopes

Hello everyone...I am a newbie to this forum. I saw a Redfield 'Golden Five Star' 3-9X40 variable in the CDNN catalog for $139.00. Any opinions on this scope as far as optical quality, durability etc. It will be used at the range primarily. If not this scope, any other suggestions around this price range +/- 50 bucks or so...again, it will basically be used at the range from one to possibly three hundred yards. Thanks in advance.

I bought a savage .308 that had a redfield on it. I was not impressed it is now serving duty on a .22mag.

For 139 you should be able to get a leupold with the same magnification and specs.
