Refreshing: Self-Defense Story Features Black Mom

The press is obsessed with the notion that guns are tools of white male supremacy. They don't like to write about the very real needs of women and minorities. Today I saw a rare and inspiring story about a black woman who shot a white male home invader. I wonder if the press will bury it. The maniac who tried to get into her house was very dangerous, and God only knows what he would have done to this woman and her three daughters. It's chilling to think about it.

I encourage my black friends to arm themselves, and I also encourage women to buy guns. Minority members who live in bad areas are in more danger than most Americans, and women are attractive targets for cowards.

This lady did a great job. Warned the criminal, shot him until he ran away, and didn't chase him down and try to execute him. Thank God she didn't listen to the dangerously stupid advice of anti-2L politicians who live in safe suburbs.

The story is remarkable but not unusual. Her uninvited guests tried to get in her house, even AFTER being warned that they would be shot. Criminals are amazing.

Saw that earlier this morning. How stupid or intoxicated (probably a combination of both) can this guy be. Letting the mom know he was there by knocking on the door which gave her time to arm herself. Ignoring the warning that she was armed and would protect herself. Kicking the door in anyway and getting shot. Reap what you sow.

I keep thinking of the decades of pain and grief he could have caused this family if she hadn't been prepared. God bless her.

I saw that on the news too. She warned him and did what she needed to do. Glad her and her family are safe.

She is actually reported to have said how thankful she was that she had a means to defend herself and her household, pointing out that the man was "kind of big" and that she didn't think she would have been "able to fight him off" herself.

Maybe it's better that the main stream media doesn't report "their version" of the story. I'm sure it would say the lady is lucky she didn't shoot herself, kids, dog, cat...or maybe the guy was the postman who always rings twice. And now she will have to live with the guilt of shooting someone and she could have permanent ear damage. Plus I'm sure words like racism, white, someones name, ect will be woven in for blame. Nah let sleeping dogs lie. They always do.

Every law abiding citizen with a reasonable handle on their temper should be armed, regardless of sex, race, religious affiliation, political beliefs.

I hope she and the kids have a speedy mental recovery from what is surely a traumatic event.

More and more stories lately of women protecting themselves with firearms. Very happy to see this trend. When I was a child, girls didn't even play with squirt guns.
