My wife and I watch "The Agency" every Saturday night. I like it - it has pretty inventive stories, decent to good gunplay and likeable characters. I do find that they top CIA people have a certain squeamishness that I find hard to imagine would exist in the "real" people, but its entertainment after all.

Last night, the story was the wives of some US Servicemen who had been in Afghanistan were being targeted and killed.

Two women has already been killed when they showed it being discussed in the breiefing room while cutting back to the third attack which happened in Kentucky (shall issue CCW).

A woman was bringing in her groceries at night and a man approached her - she did not just squeal and collapse, she kicked at him (realisticly) and tried to keep him at bay - he slashed and stabbed her and she went down. Then things got really crazy - her little girl came out the door and the BG moved towards her.

Things are looking pretty bad until the mom pulls a little revolver from her purse and starts shooting at the guy - hit him a couple times too and later they found him and had him in custody.

While her response was not discussed in detail, it was mentioned with passing acceptance, if not admiration.

Not often you see that on TV.

How many movies or TV shows have you seen someone saves the day by showing up just in the nick of time with his / her trusty handgun?
Why is it that the Hollywierd types find this to be a good thing in the movies but unacceptable in real life?
