I often have dreams of owning a roomful of H&H's then I wake up and wonder why no one this day in age hasn't brought a "low end" double rifle to market.
I realize there probably isn't much demand for such a setup, but that isn't the reason I keep stumbling across that people claim to be the reason there aren't
affordable double rifles out there.

The most frequent response I've seen to such a question is the labor intensity of building a double rifle. And yes I agree the way the artists that are left build
them it is and they produce a fine product... However I really see no reason why someone couldn't manufacture a decently priced SxS double rifle.... Ah but
regulating the barrels you say?.....

I'm by no means a gunsmith, machinist, nor physicist, but are we really to believe that with all the ballistics data and CNC machines, etc that you couldn't cut a
couple of barrels and a wedge that would get you accurate enough alignment for a fairly inexpensive double?

Those are my thoughts on the topic. What does everyone else think?
I don't necessarily want a big bore, but a double 30-30 or 30-06 sure would be fun... at least in my imagination anyhow :)

UranusDestiny beat me to it. I do believe that it's offered in other calibers in Russia/Europe, besides .45-70 and .30-'06, but I don't know if they come in actual African Calibers.

You can find Black Powder double rifles out there for about $1K last time I checked.

Valmets start just around $1,500 in a O/U configuration.

I've seen Merkels for $6,000 or so.

Kreighofs seem to go $10,000 and up.

So there are some value prices models that will not set you back a small house like the H&H's.

I should mention that I was refering to side by side. I thought all the spartan's were O/U but I was wrong it seems! and as far and price I'm not talking totally cheap. I'd go for like 2k, but not 20, 40 or ten gabazilllion lol

There's also Cabelas' Kodiak if you don't mind front stuffers. You can even get that one in 72 caliber.
