Greetings,

I was looking in my documentation and I can't find much data about reloading .380ACP with a lead bullet 88 grains round nose.
Can anyone tell me what the data is with Unique and No 2 powders please?

Moreover, Is there anyone thinking there is a better powder than Unique or No 2 for that caliber?

Thank you

I really like Accurate #2 and Titegroup for inexpensive .380 ACP lead bullet loads. I usually dial them down a bit so that I don't have to chase my brass so far... and they're still clean and very accurate. 800 - 850 fps works great, especially for introducing novices to the joys of centerfire pistols.

I've also used Accurate #2 successfully in "full power" 90gr Gold Dot Hollow Point loads, but I'm probably leaning more towards Power Pistol for those.

For general plinking loads, I use the Remington 88gr JHP bullet bought in bulk...

For such a load, it's really hard to beat Bullseye...

Greetings,

What is the min and max load with Accurate #2?
It is not in the book for Cast lead RN.

Thank you

I found a website stevespages.com that has some reloading data . for #2 he uses 2.4-3.9 in a 90 gr bullet so you may want to scale down a10th of a gr or 2. Personally i use either tiegroup or red dot for my 380

Alliant's website says for 88gr. bullet the max is 4.0gr. Unique. I've been using 4.0 of Unique for years. Speer No 13. has a slightly higher max load.

I reload my .380 using Berry's 100gr FMJ over 3.1gr of Hodgdon Universal. I haven't tried reloading lead bullets yet. That load shoots good in both my Bersa Thunder and my Llama IIIA.

Kestak, I don't know the official "max" for Accurate #2 with your bullet, but I use 2.7gr with a 95gr LRN to get a about 800 fps from my Bersa 95. 2.7gr will give you more than 2500 rounds to a pound of powder :)

Specifics: OAL .960", CCI 500 small pistol primer, R-P brass trimmed to .675", and a moderate Lee factory crimp

Hope this helps!
