I have an integrally suppressed 9mm AR15 on the way. It is being done by SRT Arms. I want to use reloads in it. I will use 147gr bullets. I am not sure what kind of bullets to get: Berry's plated bullets or FMJ bullets. Is one better than the other for use in an integral suppressor that can't be taken apart? Please let me know. Thanks.

A good plated bullet (like Berry's) and a FMJ will perform the same going through the supressor. You aren't going to have any appreciable difference in fouling from the bullet itself. The trick will be to find a powder that gives you sub 1050 fps muzzle and burns clean enough for your taste.

Before the chorus starts singing: yes I said 1050 and not 1100 for a reason. 1100 may be the technical sound barrier but there is such thing as transonic flow. That's why top match 22 ammo comes in both Pistol and Rifle formats with each giving 1030 - 1050 fps rated. It's not the change from the supersonic to subsonic that destroys velocity, it is going through the transonic range that does it.

Sub 1050 gives the supressed gun a reduced sound signature due to no supersonic crack from the bullet and a better chance for good accuracy since you should be out of the transonic region.

Are there any powders that are known to be notably dirty or notably clean. I plan on using Titegroup. It seems to be pretty clean, but that is the only pistol powder that I use so I really have no basis for comparison. I plan on using Titegroup and Berry's Plated Bullets. I just want to make sure that I'm not going to run into any problems with this load recipe in terms of both functioning of the rifle as well as the functioning and performance of the integral suppressor. Thanks.

Just in a pistol, I've had good luck as far as Titegroup bein' clean. It's a fast powder.

On the other hand, Hodgdon Clays is slower and it burns clean in my 3.8" pistol barrel.

But, Power Pistol is similar and seemed dirty, to me.

Powder burn rate chart.
