I've been reloading for a while now but I'm new to 9mm. I just got a G43 and I need to feed it. Looking for advice on 9mm in general and especially anything specific to reloading for Glocks and the G43 in particular.

I have been reloading .380 for about a year, since my wife got a G42. Around the same time I converted my Makarov from 9X18 to .380 so we could share ammo (and I could buy components in bulk)

I also load for 9mm Largo, I couldn't find any Largo reloading dies so I bought a set of Lee 9mm Luger dies and just used them for the Largo, which worked great.

So I have dies and .355 diameter bullets already (100gr plated for the .380). I have brass (probably 500 cases of misc range brass I've picked up). I have powder that I've been using for 9X18 and .380 (Red-Dot, 700-X, and Bullseye). So I'm thinking I have everything I need to load 9mm Luger without having to buy anything at all, which is pretty awesome.

Will 100gr bullets work in 9x19 though? Or do I have to buy the 115gr plus bullets? Assuming they will work, given the powders I have on hand, can you guys recommend a load? I assume it would need to be a pretty strong load, as my experience with the wife's G42 has been that only max loads will be enough to cycle the action reliably. It's picky compared to the Makarov, which eats pretty much anything I feed it

If the 100gr won't work, what should I be looking for? Any advantage to one weight bullet over another (115 vs 124 vs 147? and what about the 130gr ones made for .38 Super?).

I have used the 100gr bullets in 9mm Largo and they work fine. But I'm using pretty light loads in the Largo as my pistol is pretty old and I don't want to beat it up...

I'd suggest buying bullets specifically for your new G43 9MM. I like 124 grain bullets in my G19's and carbine rifle. 115 gr. bullets are a little cheaper and some like to load soft shooting target-match 147 grain bullets and powders. You'll get better results with standard weight 9MM bullets but you can load the light weight bullets you have.

I've loaded full house 90 gr. XTP's on occasion, it works. But I don't think you'll get much in the way of accuracy from those 100's. I would find something in the 115, 124 or 147 gr. range for better results.

I can only recommend the Xtream bullets. I don't reload, but I buy the supplies to reload for my wife's .380 ACP, and the Xtream bullets are good enough quality for reloading at least, if range ammo is your desire.

I previously used Xtreme 124g HP but have really developed a strong liking for Bayou 147g coated bullets. Takes forever to get the Xtremes but the Bayous arrive two days after I order. You can also use less powder with the Bayous and download them for a soft recoil.

I found some plated 124gr round nose bullets, I bought 250 of them to test. Loaded some of them up with 700-X, and some with Bullseye

Also loaded up a batch of 100gr plated bullets with Bullseye...

Hoping to get out to the range to test on Monday...

Guess I was worried for no reason. Turns out the G43 is not a picky eater like the G42. All 3 of my recipes worked fine. Even the 100gr bullets shot pretty close to point of aim (just slightly low).
