Guidance please:

Please recommend a source for low cost (but durable), stock sets for Rem 1100. Preferably both the fore end and butt stock. I can go butt stocks only.

Thanks!

Go on line and try Numrich Gun Parts they are up in New York
State. A small town called West Hurley.

Ebay a used Synth set. Get the regular Remington and not the Ramline.

I got a black take off set from my local gun store for $50 out the door, like brand new.

E-Bay is evil. They fund the likes of the Brady Bunch.
Boyd's would be your best spot. They're doing some very pretty stocks for reasonable prices. Plain walnut butt stock runs $85. $54 for the forestock.

Give these folks a try. You have to call and place your order, but that's not a bad thing. It gives you a chance to explain what you are really looking for. Several years ago, the wrist on my Model 70 cracked and I obtained a replacement from here and have been very pleased with it. Nice people who want to help.

Speed Feed makes a synthetic but stock that is a good quality synthetic stock. I have had one on my duck gun for 15 years. Head and shoulders above the other synthetics I have seen.

On the Speed Feed....

do they run different pads depending on model (standard vs internal shell carrier)?

I have been quite happy with my factory Rem synth stocks.

Speed Feeds do look as nice, if not a little better...............except for that "SF" grip cap (I call them San Frans) LOL.

My stock is a monte carlo model with a closed cell dense expanded rubber pad. The stock is much more preferable than the Remington synthetic stock my friend has. So much so ,that he replaced his Remington with the SPeed Feed standard field stock.
I agree about the cheesy grip cap. Of course Remington has a similar one with a swoopy "R" on some of its shotgun stocks

I really like Hogue stocks.

I think they are an excellent value for the price point.

But you won't be disappointed with Boyds, they make excellent furniture.

Remington sells the stocks in a set (buttstock and forend). Black or camo.
I think I've seen the camo go for around $75.

With turkey hunters wanting shock reducer stocks (I find them worse than reg stocks)
and others wanting tactical stuff.............common is the black 870/1100 buttstock used.

I got the nutmeg buttstock in from Boyd's. Looks good! I have both the 20ga and 20ga LW - so I try both. It much better fits the LW (I believe the 20ga is on a 12ga frame, while the 20ga LW is a smaller frame). No noticable change in length of pull - hmmmmm? I measure the 12ga 1100 that I am comparing the 20's to, and the LOP is nearly 15 inches! No wonder the LOP on the 20's seemed short. Oh well, I have an extra buttstock, a new socket for the nut, and some more education.

Good experience with Boyd's and Brownell's - this should be no surprise to anyone.
