I'm left handed and came across what appears to be a little shot Left Hand Remington 700 223 with 26" barrel. I understand the stock on these is crap but that's an easy fix and not my concern. My concern is the barrel twist which is 1 in 12. Most ARs and other 223 tactical bolt rifles are in the 1:8 or 1:9 range. With the slower 1:12 twist, I know I'm limited to lighter bullets up to about 50 grains.

My question is what type of distance are these lighter bullets accurate to? Can I expect to shoot out to 300 yards with a 45 or 50 grain bullet? I'd be doing mostly target shooting and possibly varmint shooting. Remington doesn't make the SPS tactial which I believe has a 1:9 twist in a left handed action. I'd rather not get a savage and I don't think there are a lot of other options in a left handed action. With this 700, I could always get it rebarrelled down the road, but that will be a while. Thoughts?

CZ makes left handed rifles. The American is a 12 twist and the varmint is a 9 twist..
