I have a little problem, and wanted some other opinions or ideas.

Two years ago my wife wanted to start deer hunting. So, after much thought, I bought her a Remington 1100 with cantilever, rifled barrel, in synthetic 12ga. But, we ran into a snag. She needs a youth sized stock. The 14" LOP is just too long for her. So, I started the search for a youth stock to replace this one. But I ran into a problem with this, all youth stock I found were regular shotgun configuration. And for shooting with a scope, she really needs a monte carlo. Am I missing a stock somewhere? These are the options I have come up with.

-Buy youth stock and add a comb raising kit.
-Buy a stock from Boyd's and have it cut down.
-Hope and pray someone already makes one and try and find it.
-Try to cut this one down and make it work.(really don't want to try this)

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas I am missing? And I really want to make this work for her because she loves this gun. And she can shoot it very well. Better than I thought she would as a matter of fact. Thanks for any input.

Personally, I'd have a stock tailored by a gunsmith. No matter what stock you buy (unless it's an adjustable rifle style stock) it's not going to fit perfectly, and fit is paramount with shotguns.

Proper fit on a shotgun stock is critical and is worth spending a little extra time and $$ to achieve. Depending on your wife's size, arm length and strength, there might well not BE a factory-produced stock that is 'right' for her.

Remington offers a Monte Carlo replacement stock for the 1100 that is synthetic- might be possible for a 'smith to shorten it for her. See http://www.remington.com/products/accessories/gun_parts/synthetic_stocks.asp . But wood is much easier to work with and can be fitted in several dimensions. So...

Numrich has a walnut monte Carlo listed at http://e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=957550&chrSuperSKU=&MC=YJ . Take a look at it and see what you think.

Good luck with it...
