Remington 115 gr htp vs umc 115 gr jhp

After looking these two rounds over to me they looked like the same bullet. After talking to Remington they confirmed that the high terminal performance “htp” is the same bullet as the green/white box umc jhp. This may have already been posted here I don’t know just thought I would share. I know in my area the umc comes in 100 rounds for 32 dollars. That’s cheaper than the htp in 50 round boxes for 23 dollars.

Yep. I have both Hornady Custom and American Gunner and can not tell any difference other than the price.

Kind of like Remington Golden Saber vs Remington Ultimate Defense. I am almost positive they are the same. Ultimate Defense seems to just be repackaging and a higher price.

Usually the premium "self defense" or "duty" line has a higher QC process and are loaded with powders that have reduced flash.

For decent hollowpoints on a budget Golden Sabres are a good choice IMO. Still a good deal even with shipping.
Having said that Gold Dots and HSTs seem to preform well.
Still have some Remington GS around but STHF mags are loaded with Gold Dots.
