Wal Mart ethical discussions aside, I found a 100 pack of green box Remington/UMC 115 grain JHP at my local Wal Mart for $14.97. I usually buy the 100 round Winchester white box JHP for a few dollars less. I didn't see any Winchester ammo, but I saw this lonely box of Remington/UMC there. My Ruger 9MM pistols gobble up anything. Does any one else use/buy this Remington/UMC JHP ammo? I thought it was good ammo at a good price.

I've used it plenty of times in both 9 and 45 and never had any problems with it in any of my pistols.

price is ok, not great though. $15 for 100 rounds of 9mm isn't anything to stock up with....

I have bought it a couple of times at Wal-Mart. Have not had any problems with it in any of my guns. Seems to be a little hotter than WWB. Not a bad price for a JHP.

Dicks Sporting Goods in Charlottesville has the best prices on the UMC 9mm......~5.79 for 50. I've found the Rem. to be a little cleaner in my cz 75b.

Dick's runs these sales often. Cheapest 9mm price I've seen for good ammo. Last time I bought 500 rounds at $5.68 / box (50). I've gone through about 700 rounds total in a glock 17 and a HK USPc with NO problems at all.

I use it in .45ACP and the SJHP in .38 Special. The price is right for hollow points ($24/100 in .45 ACP- you aren't going to beat that), and it seems to shoot cleaner than the WWB stuff (I like WWB, but it does leave more of a mess).

Remington has apparently decided to compete with Winchester on the low cost manufactured ammo. I like them both, but if they are the same price or very close, I'll generally go with Remington due to the easier cleaning.

I've liked Remington ammo, no matter what kind.

That 9mm UMC works well for me.

Remington's ammo does seem cleaner.

I avoid Winchester shotshells other than AA's because they don't feed well in my shotgun compared to Remington (even the cheapest Remington). Otherwise, no problems with Winchester, either. It does seem dirty unless you get the high-end stuff.

Dirty?

Anyone think the UMC 9mm runs a little dirtier powder wise than the Win White Box. that has been my experience. I suffered the only jam ever in my S&W 910 with UMC and it was really powder resing my gun. Just curiuos. I love the UMC 180gr though.

Bit of a thread jack, but I love Winchester Dry Lock steel shot for waterfowl hunting, ducks. I had a problem with 3" Remington loads ejecting from my 3" M500 Mossberg that I use for waterfowl and all things deserving of a 3" load. The Remington steel 3" was somewhat longer than any other load, federal, winchester, whatever, when fired. It was long enough that it was hanging up on the front of the ejection port. I quit using Remington in the Mossy for this reason and never had a problem with any other brand. It's been 10 years at least since then and Remington might have changed their cases, but I don't mess with 'em to this day.

For as light loads, I like the Winchester superspeed for dove hunting. It's strong enough to work the action in my M1400 Winchester and it throws a good pattern at a decent velocity. Doves, I've found, need a high velocity load. I've seen the little buggars actually DODGE a low speed load out at longish range. That's something clays won't do.:D

dirty... as of late, the wwb has been much dirtier to me than the umc. as for price, wally world had umc 115gr. fmj for 5.79 per 50. bought all they had. only 4 boxes unfortunately.

Use it in both .45 and 9MM. For hollow points that a real good buy in my area. Doesn't seem any dirtier than other brands to me.

I've used this UMC ammo in green box in 9mm and 40. Works fine in USP9 and P2000.
I've also tried their 250 pack ammo in 45, 9 and 40. those work fine in all my HKs.

Slightly off topic.....

but if you live in the Dallas/Ft worth area and you don't mind CCI Blazer 9mm FMJ, Academy Sports sells it for 3.86 for a box of 50. Every day.

I must say that I dislike the UMC. Much more dirty than the WWB. However, I did like that they were in trays.

+1! Really flashy ammo. However, its the cheapest HP around. Might be worth considering if you want to carry what you shoot at the range without breaking your budget.

It seems to be a little dirtier than I would like. The local Academy Sports sells WWB for 4.86 a box, and Blazer for 3.86 and I buy those two.

I tried the green box, and won't buy it again.
As others have mentioned, dirtier than winchester, and MUCH more muzzle flash.

Bad news.....Academy raised the prices on both Blazer and Winchester white box to $4.86 and $5.86 respectively. :(
