I saw a remington pump action .223 with Knoxx pistol grip stock that takes AR mags in the store the other day. I didnt catch the model number. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about them? Kinda looked like an AR of sorts just in a pump action. I dont have a licence to own an AR so this looks like a decent compromise.

Yep thats the one, thank you. Anyone have one of these that can comment on its performance?

Don't own one but a friend of mine does, and I've shot it a lot. Very nice shooter. He says it's been utterly reliable.

Fantastic rifle from all I can see and they are quite popular with folks that for whatever reason can't have an AR style rifle.

Yes jackdanson, Canada is home for me. Need a restricted licence to own any pistol or firearm based on the AR platform or anything full auto. Cannot use them to hunt with must only be used at a licenced range. Not worth it to me. Thanks everyone for the replys. I did a search once I was told the model number. Have all the info I need. Think this will be a nice addition to the family. Fairly heavy little sucker for its size though from what I noticed. It will make a great small game/predator bush gun.

The Remington 7600 synthetic is basically the same thing and comes in .308.

Seems to me the 7615 is just the .223 version of the 7600, and the 15 was added because it can use AR-15 mags.

Does a detachable magazine alone disqualify for CA?

Yes but I am pretty sure I saw a conversion kit for these Remingon pumps to make the mag "fixed".

There is some law, and I don't pretend to be an expert on CA law, that if the magazine removal takes a "tool" then it's OK so lots of folks sell mag releases that you can push with the tip of a bullet but not your finger.

I don't own one, but I've shot one a bit. Nice guns, and if you are used to pumping a shotgun they are pretty fast to run as well.

I have tried to justify buying one, but with a stack of ARs in the safe it just seems like a waste. If I couldn't own an AR I'd get one in a heartbeat.

These pump rifles have really caught my eye. What other manufacturers makes these types of firearms? Any in 7.62x39? Thanks for your input.

Well the M14 is legal in CA with a muzzle break that would be my rifle of choice but I assume this rifle is CA legal as it is not a semi auto.

Someone (probably Century) imports a pump-action AK derivative for those in jurisdictions who don't allow the little people to own semiautos with protruding handgrips. It's called the PAR-1 and takes regular AK mags.

Those 7615s are sweet, too bad they only come in .223. But then again they do have ten round mags for the 7600. 10 rounds in a 30-06 pump, thats what I'm talkin about:D

I grew up on my dad's 760 in .257 Roberts. It made me giggle a little bit when the 7615 came out a few years ago and everyone was acting like it was new. (I think my dad's is 50 years old.) I would actually love to bump into one in .243 or .308 in a pawn shop.

There are aftermarket mags, but be careful. I hunted with a friend many years ago who took out a 10 rounder for his 7600 in .06, and when the moment of truth came, it failed to feed.

Keep in mind that in Canada the available magazines for the 7615 will be somewhat limited by Federal law. Magazines that can fit a semi-auto centrefire long gun are limited to 5 rounds, pistol mags are limited to 10 rounds. Some bright vendor came out with a 10-round AR15 *pistol* magazine that is legal since it was designed, manufactured and stamped from scratch for such usage. So, you could use those 10-round pistol magazines in the 7615 or your restricted AR15 pattern rifle in Canada.

{Big grin}

It doesn't have to make sense, it's (Canadian) gov't policy.
