Remington 700 LSS Transformation

I picked up a Remington 700 LSS in 257 Weatherby Mag a few weeks ago. That heavy laminate stock just wasn’t my idea of the perfect stock for a hunting rifle and the trigger sucked. I finally got around to ordering an H. S. Precision stock and Timney flat trigger for it and got them installed today. It’s a totally different rifle now.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with the new look and feel. Now, it’s time to get it out to the range and see how it shoots.

Nice score on what has to be a pretty uncommon gun. Not very many Rem 700s in 257 Weatherby out there I would imagine and LSS to boot.

My understanding is that they are extremely hard to find. I only found one for sale online before I traded for this one and they were asking north of $2K. I got into this one at a good price.

I don’t hand load for it. There are several good loads from Weatherby and I really like the Hornady Precision Hunter load.

No, sir. I’m gonna hang onto it. The guy I traded out of it is a buddy of mine and he’s convinced he’ll get it back one day. He asked me to hang onto the laminate stock for his sake.

ok figured to ask, my dad picked up a 3006 a while back and like to get him a better stock.
