at one of my favorite flea markets that opened up today i found this remington 722 in .300 savage(my second one) with a ex bore and very good outside made in nov 1951. some one slathered a coating of varnish on it, and i will remove it slowly to see if any factory finish remains under the varish.

i realy have two other .300 savage remingtons, another 722 and a 700 rem classic in .300 savage that i have not fired. with 150 gr nosler BT,s at 2700 fps they make dandy deer rifles.

Really cool. Old rifles are my favorite. I never find anything like that at a flea market or yard sale. Thought I was doing good once when I found a bag of what I thought was .223 brass. Bought it and when I got home it was .222. Just my luck.

Congrates. They are pretty neat old rifles. I had a 725 in 244 for several years and have sold several 721's and 722's on consignments. The 725 brought a pretty penny since they only made a little over 800 in that caliber. The 300 Savage is such a nice round that I am amazed that it doesn't sell better.
