If you were looking for a used Remington pump rifle, in whatever caliber, is there any reason you might prefer either the 760 or the 7600 over the other? They seem to be pretty similar to me......
by specialized tools I assume you mean screwdriver (wrench for the 7400)the 7600 brrl is completely free-floated. The accuracy is right up there with Rem 700.. same brrl blanks are used in production, but I think they always were. Barrel removal was easier on the older 760, but that also attributed to slight loss of accuracy. The 7600 no longer has the mid-brrl attachmnt point for action/slide. Brrl removal on the 7600 now requires a competent gunsmith's skill and specialized tools, like the Rem 700 rifles
