I have a Remington 1100 20 gauge with a serial number that ends in an X. It is in remarkable condition and has a 26” barrel. Am I right that the ones with serial numbers ending in X are built on a heavier action and are a bit more valuable?

The X numbered ones are built on the 12ga frame; I bought my wife one not knowing that. When I tried to buy a 26" skeet barrel for it I discovered extra barrels are almost impossible to find. I tried to talk her into letting me sell that one and get her a regular 20ga. But by then she loved it and I was stuck.

I ended up paying more for a X skeet barrel after I finally found one than I paid for the shotgun. I also paid to have it fit to her and choke tubes installed in the 28" Mod barrel. I've got more in that thing than a new Beretta.
