Hello from Montana,
A friend of mine is looking for a shellcatcher for his Remington Model 58 in 12 gauge. He said he tried one for the Model 1100 a few years ago and it did not work.Any ideas ?? Thanks
Thick, wide rubber band around the receiver, about 3/4" back from the front of the ejection port (experiment with exact distance).
That's the standard shell catcher for guns that aren't on the short list they make them for (1100/87 and 390/1, maybe one or two others). Works fine on just about anything, if you use the right rubber band and get the position right.
Birchwood Casey makes a device called the Save It Shell Catcher. Cost is about 12$. It attaches to the receiver under the ejection port with double face tape. It will work will any auto. The catcher can be flipped out of the way if doubles are shot. The rubber band sounds good but I never thought of it.
