I have one, shoots 1/2 Moa with federal gmm. Wanted to get more out of it by using hornady superformance 178's but it shot those at like 2 moa.

I have one in .308 Win. I removed it from the factory stock and put it in an AI AX chassis, put in a Timney 508 trigger and mounted a NightForce NXS 3.5-15x56 scope. Had it out today (57*F, alt. 5,625', 5 kts wind) with some hand loads (Lapua brass, CCI BR2 primers, VV N550 44.5gr, Nosler CC 168gr bullets, COAL=2.815) and shot two 5-shot groups 0.6" and 0.7". These are fine platforms and, with the right triggers and glass will get the job done.

Cheers,

Harry

I know a couple guys that shoot long range with the standard 5R Milspec. Both are well under sub MOA and they have no problems with them out to 1000 yards.

I have an older 5R and have the same factory stock which I like a lot I put Badger Ordinance bottom metal and a bolt handle on it and it has a NightForce NXS scope on 20 MOA Badger Ordinance rail I too run the Timney straight trigger set to about 2 pounds , Atlas Bipod and butt monopod. The standard Federal 168 grain Match ammo it is sighted in for produces 1 1/2" 200 yard groups on a Lead Sled pretty routinely. I have made better performing Sierra Match Bullet /Varget loads that get the groups a little tighter but keep it sighted for the Federal Match ammo . These guns clean up the bore better than any thing else I own, very smooth bore and the 5R rifling helps in this regard. This is my go to and no doubt last "Sniper" tool , round count is still under 1000 as I am slowing down , but I try to run the rifle for a hundred rounds a few times a year.

I like that they offer it in 260....Why not a 6mm Rem as well?
I bet a few of those would sell to the nostalgic crowd.
