I just bought a Remington Model 700 ADL in .308. I'm looking to trick it out/fix it up/ accurize whatever you want to call it. I already have a scope and am looking at bipods. What else do you recommend? As some of you may already know it doesn't have a detachable magazine. I have been told that you can convert it so that it will. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks for the help.

You didn't state if the stock is wood or synthetic, either way you would have to cut and inlet for the new bottom metal.

It might be easier to find a used BDL stock and then get the DM kit. Which seems to be $200 to $300, depending on whose it is. A used stock can range from $100 to $250, depending on what type you get.

Semper: Suggest you go to Gun Parts Corp(Numrich Arms) and buy a BDL stock and the necessary parts to convert your 700 ADL to the more expensive BDL model for probably less than 200.00. Watch what you buy because GPC has stocks that have cut or mpressed checkering. You want cut checkering obviously. Also remember that the 700 came in long and short actions. Your 308 is the short action. :)

You can always go the aftermarket route for a detachable box magazine, but they get real spendy, real fast. The H-S Precision setup retails for a bit over $300, and 5 and 10-round mags are available - but they're expensive! Or, you can buy the Badger Ordnance M5 trigger guard or the Tactical Rifles DBM trigger guard for around $350, and use AICS magazines (or clones). The mags are less expensive than H-S Precision mags.
