Anybody know the difference between a Remington Model 700 ADL and a Remington Model 700 BDL?

Are the receivers identical just finished differently??

IIRC the 700 BDL had a more embellished stock that included checkering, a pistol grip cap and a forend tip. The only functional difference was the floorplate. I believe iron sights were standard on the 700 ADL and not installed on the base 700 BDL, but don't quote me on that one.

yes, 700 bdl's have sights (at least all my 700 bdl's did - i yanked 'em when i scoped the rifles).

the bdl's also have a 'shiny' finish on the stock in addition to what has already been posted. the bdl is also available (currently) in more calibers than the adl. bolt handle is checkered, too.

basically, though, it boils down to cosmetics. should you decide to get a bdl, i'd advise to get the hinged floorplate models.

many people actually prefer the adl and not because of its lower price tag.

BDLs come with or without iron sights depending on caliber and random choice of the manufacturer. Most ADLs do come with iron sights though my 3 year old ADL Synthetic in 270 does not have sights.

Most of the ADLs I've seen lately have a parkerized type finish whereas the BDLs are blued. But please just use this as a guide. Always ask the dealer or the person from which you are ordering.
