Unfortunately it looks like the Santa Monica shooter's much reported ".44 Revolver" is what appears to be a modern reproduction of a NMA. Looks a lot like my Cabela's offered Pietta in fact.

Hope this does not lead to the same kind of hysteria we are seeing today on the 6 month anniversary of another nut job's crimes.

In better news a couple of guys at church have asked me to show them how to safely load and shoot the C&B revolvers they have......neither is even sure what they have and both bough them over 20 years ago. As one is an otherwise serious collector I am curious to see what he brings in.

Makes it hard to know what to bring not having any idea what their guns are, so I plan to simply bring a couple of my own and hope that covers it for them.

As one is in his mid 60's and the other mid 70's, both LDS church men, BSA leaders and good guys I don't see either of them wandering about a college campus creating mayhem with their BP revolvers.

I need to buy one in .45 Colt before they take that freedom away as well. Anybody know the least expensive option? I'm wanting a gated one but I'll settle for the removable kind.

I HATE this state more than anything in the world and I do not regret saying that. :( Taking my dad out with a couple bricks of .22 rimfire and some of my rifles is one of our favorite things to do together. Family bonding destroyed by legislative chimpanzees. I'm heading to Arizona first chance I get. This is madness. I can't stay in the state to finish college.

didkyd,

they moved you to general gun discussions. I did not know it had a conversion cylinder and was going from the photos from the front angle.

Thanks for the heads up.

no matter the bill banning lead bullets in California its expected to pass. the bill banning pictures of guns in books and magazines probably won't pass yet! so your cabelas catalogs are safer now.

Are you serious? Pictures of naked women with animals are OK but pictures of guns might be illegal?
I'm glad that I've never been to California if they are that whacko.

Looked like it had bore butter or crisco around round balls in the picture I saw. no matter, they'll come after everything sooner or later, including my wrist rocket, and my crossbow.

AMEN to THAT! Hell, they probably outlawed the use of the word "Amen" out there, too, although "Allah Akbar" is probably safe. Thank GOD for Texas. :D There are other states, danged few, but other states I'd like to live in, but it could be a LOT worse. :D I never cease to be amazed at how STUPID laws can get.

I want a conversion cylinder. The one I want, a .45ACP, has been backordered from the source I had planed to pick it up from. I see, however, that it's now in stock. BUT, the price has gone up. It was about 220.

The more talk that circulates on the internet about the converted Remmie the quicker the commies will be coming after them . Every site that has a BP section or seems just any gun section is talking about this .We know the a$$ wipes read these forums.Shut - Up

They're hard on you if you say Amen. I have my whole life and it's gotten me into trouble. I've got no intentions of stopping.

Wish I still had guns, I'd totally get a conversion cylinder. Sadly yesterday all my firearms were lost in a huge accident involving semi-trucks and monkeys. Such a tragedy! :'(

You guys are kidding about them trying to pass a bill that outlaws pictures of guns there, right?

They must have blown up with the explosion caused by the black powder. That same thing happened to me last week. It must be contagious. :barf:

Damn, man, that's a total coincidence. I just got all my guns ripped off. I went and bought a gun safe today and while I was out, the burglars got in and took everything. Oh, well, guess I weren't meant to own guns.....

BTW, HELLO NSA! How you guys doin'?

Usually when a home is burglarized, the thief/thieves already know what you have.I hate to hear that :fire: It happened to me too years back.I lost all my guns that I collected for 20+ yrs. Sorry to hear that.

Maryland is getting close to CA in the stupid department. Not only an "assault weapon" ban and fingerprinting for a handgun,* but they rejected transfer of a Winchester Model 1892 receiver on the ground that it could be used to build an assault rifle!!!

*Blatantly racist; one of the sponsors said that it would discourage "certain people" from buying handguns. He didn't say what "certain people" but no one has to guess.

Jim K, don't even think your legislators are even close to the ones in my state, California. Half the state's debt is from all the paint thinner and industrial lead based solvent our elected officials drink. I tried bargaining with them, they won't take store brand. They have to have the finest triple distilled and triple contaminated methylated spirits.

They also smoke paint chips too. That's cheaper since we have construction companies save what they scrape off old buildings and bridges and save it for them. Part of the ammo shortage is also partially caused by them buying all the primers and bullets to suck on while they contemplate new gun laws.

What do you think, maybe they should bring back the lobotomy.
These "wackos with guns" give all of us that are just a little out there a bad name.
In one press release I read the writer identified the gun as a 1860 Colt "like one he had" some time back before he went over to the other side.
Doesn't it look like it has a cartridge conversion?

There's an article circulating on the internet about a high school kid expelled for wearing a NRA t-shirt. Seems that Che shirts are ok, but the NRA isn't. The NRA lawyers are on it and suing. I won't hold my breath as Eric the crook might get involved and make it a racial issue..:fire::cuss::banghead:

I read about that too. Okay, I will level with you guys. I've had an NRA T-shirt for years and I've been a member for quite some time. I wore that shirt to school all the time, my teacher didn't BM&C about me having it.

I went to school once a week (I'm a homeschooled country boy) and had the coolest teacher ever. After talking with the superintendent I could get school credit for building rifle stocks and gun parts.

For my 11th grade (I think) woodworking and metalshop project I built a flintlock/caplock convertible muzzleloading rifle in .50 caliber. That was a few years ago, I'm 19 right now, that happened in California. Either I'm REALLY lucky or things aren't as horrific as they seem.
