Looking for instructions on how to adjust the Remington X Mark Pro trigger on my SPS. I have found the instructions on how to adjust older style (Sniper country), but not the X Mark trigger. Any help would be appreciated.

The trigger adjustment screws are in the same location for the old and new Remington trigger. You need a 1/16 inch allen wrench to adjust the new type trigger.

adjustment

Did you have much trouble getting the allen screws to turn? I've tried some WD40, and haven't been able to turn two of them so far, but haven't used maximum elbow grease thus far.....Thanks. George.

I've done some old 700 triggers, and didn't have this problem.....

Xmark Pro

The Xmark is not like the old rem trigger. You should only adjust the weight screw, not all 3.

Forget about WD40 as a penetrating oil or a lubricant. Kroil from Kano Labs (www.kanolabs.com) is the best penetrating lube I've ever used -- truly amazing, but for really tough jobs you have to let it sit and soak in for a good long while. Tri-flow if you can find it locally (try a lock and key shop) is also far superior in every way to WD40.

Removing the Trigger Stop Screw

Anyone know if it's a bad idea to completely remove the Trigger Stop Screw from the X-Mark Pro so as to have free over travel after the trigger breaks?

There seems to be some confusion on the net regarding the X mark pro trigger. On the newer rifles you do not need to remove the action from the stock, heat screws, break glue loose ect...

I just got a 2009 model M700 with the user adjustable X-Mark Pro trigger. On these the adjustment screw is on the trigger itself. Just take a quality 1/16" allen wrench and turn counter-clockwise to adjust. Mine only needed like 1/8 turn to get to 3 pounds. sweet feeling trigger.

I just got a Sendero that has the adjustment screw on the trigger. I ran my weight screw completely out. I like how it feels now, anyone know if that will be a problem ? With the .300 RUM, I didnt like the idea of that screw digging into my finger on recoil.

Yep! The geometry of the parts makes it so lowering the pull weight doesn't affect sear engagment or overtravel. Adjust pull weight only on the X Mark triggers. They'll go down to 2 lbs safely but no lower based on the 1/2 dozen I've tuned.

Actually, I think there is another Xmark trigger (?). It would be the very first ones, with screws similar to the old style trigger, but with a different safety.
Right..... there is at least 2 designs of the Xmark trigger.
