Hey guys, was at my local pusher the other day and noticed a nice 1895 GBL. I'm a sucker for the guide gun and have a stainless JM one already. Used it to bag my only deer with it last year. I looked this one over and fit finish wood fitting in my opinion are up to par and equal the older JM ones. I'm really not wanting to spend any money on it and I agreed with my spouse to not "buy" any more guns. Trades are fair game.

Back in the back of my safe I have an 8-3/8" Smith 686 no dash I rarely ever shoot. It's too long for anything other than range use and I have my 4" 686 and 586 I shoot much more frequently but those don't even get out cause I typically shoot my 41 and 45s. So that got me to thinking about an even swap. Pros are I'm getting a Guide Gun that appears to be in fine shape, but being new, is untested. Cons are I lose a pristine long tube 686 that has NOT been modified but shows no issues and is fairly accurate. Maybe ill just lay down the cash for the GBL (while not rare, do seem harder to come by). I won't order online because I want to inspect it first.

What say you?
